International Farmers Market

Every Wednesday our downtown street becomes a farmers market & today was gorgeous!!!…balmy breeze & the temps reached 80.

I bought one of the large heads of red leaf lettuce for $2 as well as a ginormous head of kale, tomatoes, a large bunch of cilantro & scallions each for $1. They had watermelon which looked yum but it was way too large!… instead, I bought a mini seedless one @ the supermarket!

I love all the fresh produce… even after hearing this week about how pesticides are not only on the surface but in fruit & veggies. Much of what we get at Farmer’s Markets come from local farms, supposedly organic! However, I’m not convinced run off & airborne pesticides do not find its way into everything we eat!!!
