It’s looking and feeling like Spring lately.
This is my new soft Cotton mini yarn stash. It wasn’t easy selecting from the tons of colors Knit Picks offers on this yarn. It’s cotton & modal blends. I find this very interesting about Modal: http://www.aaatextiles.com/knit/Modal.html
The sheen is pretty and is so much softer than the Lily Sugar & Cream yarn I’ve used.
Here are some of the colorful skeins I bought.
I love the jewel tone color way of this beautiful soft chunky yarn (Lion Brand Yarn).
Working on a cowl…a really warm cowl using a large R hook (as thick as a pretzel rod stick). I’m making the cowl tall to be able to roll it over or hide under it during very cold weather. Stitching half double crochet stitches around and around. I’m almost finished!
Spent the day surrounded by fiber lovers – touching luxurious yarn (at the Dutchess county fairgrounds). The Rhinebeck Sheep & Wool Festival draws thousands of fiber lovers, from all over. There are vendors galore, aisle after aisle of amazing yarn. I’m grateful for gorgeous sunny weather with temps in the 60’s = perfect day!
I bought more than I should but, I’m frugal with my yarn purchase, most of year anyway. 😉 A few skeins, but couldn’t find the Blue Moon “Fire on the Mountain” hank which I need to finish a shawl. Well, I bought another colorway to make another. I also bought some accessories (knitting needles, crochet hook, etc.), earrings, some alpaca socks (for gifts), my annual large basket purchase & of course, a falafel.
Another amazing day surrounded by yarn!!
With all the craziness going on in this world I’m grateful for my hobby of Crocheting/ Knitting …it helps keep my restless hands busy and anxious tendencies in check.
I also use some of the helpful practices given (below).
Working on a few charity projects, these prayer hearts will be sent to women who are grieving the lost of an infant (2nd and 3rd trimester).
This turquoise baby blanket is for friend’s newborn baby boy. I love working with this cheerful color.
Simple practices that help:
Newborn size vs teeny preemie size…
Crocheting using Caron one pound yarn & Bernat for accent stripes.
So much smaller than this newborn baby hat
Making a dozen of these for the preemie hat project of my Stitch & Bitch.
I’ve made #4 out of 30 knitted washcloths. I’m adding them to my ‘TLC packs’ for my Spring donation to the women’s shelter. Going to wrap it around a bar of soap.
Happy Spring!! Happy Palm Sunday and the start of the Holy week.
